EXCEL TRAINING - SUGGESTED OUTLINES FOR ONE-DAY COURSES Below are some general suggestions for course content. These are flexible guidelines as each day can be tailored to your precise requirements, and the list of topics is not exhaustive. The exact amount of material covered each day will depend on existing knowledge and familiarity with Excel and Windows of course participants. For the Introductory day it is assumed that participants have little, or no, previous knowledge of Excel, but some familiarity with Windows. The course outlines are quite ambitious, and we may not cover all the topics in one day. For the Intermediate and Advanced courses it is anticipated that the participants are at least familiar with (most of) the contents of the Introductory course. INTRODUCTION TO EXCEL - 1 Day course This is an introduction to the basic spreadsheet and charting components of Excel - how to access these, and how to create useful spreadsheets and graphs. Participants will design spreadsheets which include lists and simple calculations; produce basic charts; print spreadsheets, charts, and formulae. Topics to be covered include as much of the following as possible:
Excel has many built-in commands which enable you to manipulate, calculate, and analyse your data. This course builds on material from the earlier "Introduction to Excel". It will introduce more Excel commands and features, particularly those necessary for performing more complex calculations. Topics to be covered include as much of the following as possible:
Windows allows you to use more than one spreadsheet or chart (or any other Windows application) at a time, and allows quick and easy transfer of data between these. This course will introduce features for working with several spreadsheets, and will build on material introduced in "Intermediate Excel". Topics to be covered include as much as possible of the following:
