Iain Nicholson A former BBC Radio journalist, presenter and editor, Iain Nicholson is an experienced media skills trainer.

Since leaving the BBC and starting Nicholson Associates, his own copywriting and media training business, Iain has developed a series of courses for small business.

Two established courses, 'Winning Media Coverage For Your Business' and 'Winning Media Interview Skills' have proved successful and popular with private and public sector audiences over a number of years.

The courses can be specially tailored to suit the needs of particular businesses or organisations and have been presented to a range of clients including universities, council staff and councillors and team members with PR responsibilities at various levels within a number of small companies and government agencies.

Iain has recently added two new courses to his portfolio which are already winning positive feedback from delegates: 'Professional Writing for Business' and 'Avoiding the Peaks and Troughs of Running a Small Business'.

From a Media Release from The Marlborough School, Woodstock, a Specialist School in Business and Enterprise and Humanities:

The workshop on 'Winning Media Coverage For Your Business', led by media trainer Iain Nicholson, was the first in a 'Small Courses for Small Business' series that the school plans to offer to help local companies improve key skills.

Representatives of local companies joined Marlborough Business & Enterprise Administrator, Sharon Whittaker, for the workshop.
Sharon says: "As a Business and Enterprise College we are very keen to extend our learning into the local community to help parents, other local schools, communities and local businesses. This course, and the ones we are planning in the future, will do just that; bringing together people from different sectors of our community and sharing with them the resources which are available to us."

Alison Smith from Vibration Free said: "I found the course extremely useful and plan to send my first news release out by the end of this week."

Chris Baylis from The Real Wood Furniture Co said: "Although we are already successful in achieving some media coverage, it is always interesting to learn more about the process. It was great that Iain was prepared to share some of his professional insights with us."

Timon Colegrove of Hunts said: "In 2 hours Iain gave us a systematic approach to writing and supplying news releases that will get published - a bargain training session, I look forward to the next one."
