Robert is the director of Strategic Catering Solutions Ltd.

He qualified in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management from Thames Valley University over 18 years ago, to pursue a career in the food industry. He has held many roles from Executive Chef in the BBC to Catering Management positions in a diversity of organisations. Whilst working for Tele-Cine, Robert gained his Advanced Food Hygiene and Advanced Health and Safety certificates, which he used in designing the food safety and health and safety management systems and safety induction programmes.

Robert returned to University to gain a post graduate qualification in Personnel Development and Management, which he maintains through his graduate status membership with the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development. He then fulfilled a training management role with Quadrant Catering, a subsidiary of Compass Group.  During this time he implemented a training and development programme for food hygiene across multi sites in the West London area based on a learning log system.

In overseeing the day to day general management of a popular Wine Bar in London, Robert designed and implemented food safety management systems and undertook the training of all staff in the essentials of hygiene and health & safety.

CMi Plc approached Robert to deliver one to one coaching on HACCP models during the pilot project organised by the Food Standards Agency, a role which he has returned to during national roll-out of Safer Food Better Business.

With his experience, Robert wanted to put something back into the food industry and established his own company, currently undertaking a monthly programme of food hygiene and health and safety audits and delivery of level 1 and 2 CIEH qualifications in food hygiene for a large contract catering company.

Robert has also been involved in the delivery of one to one coaching sessions on Safer Food Better Business for South Oxfordshire Council through his association with the Learning Ladder, and he is soon to embark on more delivery programmes.
